Pokemon square!

I finished a square today! Been working on it all day, on and off. It turned out well. I wish it would look better when crocheting on the wrong side. Just doesn't turn out as well as on the right side. But I try and this is about as good as it's going to get. :3

Another square done!

Last night I finished the WoW Horde square. When I put it with the others, I realized it was smaller than them. So I'll have to put a border around it to make it match in size. Now I've started on the Pokemon square. About 15% done on it. Should have it done by today. If I can get one square out a day, I'll actually get the blanket done in time! Excited about seeing it all come together. If it turns out well, I'll make another with something else besides games. Maybe anime. I think that'd be awesome!

Crochet Day

It's been awhile since I've updated. Yesterday I began to crochet on the Horde square for the gamer blanket. I also received the vampire swap package from my swapper on Ravelry. I got some pretty yarn and I found something I want to make. The only problem is, it's a knitting pattern. So I must learn to knit. The next time I go to Walmart I'm going to pick up a learners book and have a go. I'm hoping I can pick it up quickly as I really want to make this hat. It's adorable!

So once I learn to knit, I have my first project. ^-^ Today my goal is to finish this Horde square and be able to start on another. 2 months left till Yule and I'm no where near being done with gifts!

Arm warmers

I've been working on a set of arm warmers for a trade. They're turning out good though it's a pattern I'm making myself. I've just about finished one and about to start on the other. I'm hoping to finish them today and have a picture up later this evening. :3

Crochet Funk

So I've not been crocheting much lately. Seems I've gotten myself into a little funk where I don't feel like doing anything. I haven't picked up a crochet hook nor touched my sewing machine. I did start on a plushie of Edward Cullen for a trade I'm in though. But I haven't finished him. I guess hand sewing a little bit is better than doing totally nothing. But I wish I could get out of this jam. I need to get back to work on the gamer blanket as well as work on other Yule gifts. Tomorrow I'm going to try to do something. I need to sew some things for trades and crochet as well. Will just have to push myself and make myself do it. Maybe doing that will get me to want to do it. -shrugs- Will see.

Accessories

I stayed up till 4am last night. I couldn't get to sleep so I crocheted. I managed to make myself a necklace and headband, both with flower adornments. They came out cute and I love the color of the yarn I used.

Late night crocheting

It's late and I'm not in the least sleepy. So I've started in on a small project. I'm making myself a bow headband and a flower necklace. Pattern is simple and won't take long to do. I'm going to try and get atleast one of them done. Maybe crocheting will get me sleepy and put me to bed. We'll see. Here's a pic of what I'll be making! Not sure what color I'm going to do though.

Health kick

Over the past couple of years I've put on some weight and have out grown alot of my old clothes. It's gotten to the point now where I just can't take it anymore. I need to loose these pounds. I'm 5lbs away from 200lbs. That's frightening! I never want to be that or over! So I've been drinking nothing but water this past week and exercising. I've gone walking for about 2 miles and today I brought out The Wave that I got for Yule one year and worked out on that for half an hour. I'm sweating alot and can feel the burn in my legs so hope it'll work. My goal for this month is that by the end of it I want to be 5lbs lighter and weigh at 190lbs. My goal by Yule, the end of the year, is to be at 170lbs. Let's see if I can do it!

Gamer Afghan

Last month while I was browsing through Ravelry's projects, I found this amazing blanket. This crocheter took many different squares with game designs on them and created this huge afghan. I fell in love and decided I had to make one myself. With Yule in mind, I thought it'd make an awesome gift. So I printed out some graph patterns, picked up some yarn, and started in. So far I've made 3 out ot 25 squares. I have a long way to go, but I'll get it done before Yule for sure.
This is what Ravelry's BlanketofDoom did with her afghan. I've been using it as a base for mine.

I'm using quite a few of the same squares but using different background colors.

For the three squares I've already made, I've come out with : HALF LIFE

and SONIC

There's still a lot more to go though. It's taken me some time just to get those three done. I need to step up my game and try to get atleast 3-5 out a week. I'm doing them all in single crochet. I made my own graph of Kingdom Hearts. Going to try it next see if it comes out right.

I won't be able to crochet much today as I have another task I need to do. I had a friend ask if I could help him with one of his cosplay costumes. So I need to break out my sewing machine and get to work on it. He's doing a character from Mortal Kombat. He gave me this as a reference, only it's in black, not yellow. I forgot which character it is he's doing though. It's not Scorpion, I know that much.

So I've got a busy day today. Need to get to work. I'll update again when I have made more progress. Until next time I leave off with a quote. :

My First Blog

Hello hello. My name is Metta. I created this blog to be a place for my crochet projects and fun facts. I will update periodically with progress pictures of my latest project as well as info on how it's going. I'll as well put up things I find around that I think deserve a post for their awesomeness. This blog is to help me keep organized and on track with what I'm making. I want to see if I can keep up with it for a year and if so, see how much I actually crochet in that time spand.
